Cattle weighing Scales Rental Service

The network of depots where weighing equipment is available for rent and technicians offering a weighing service can be seen on the map.

To rent a scales, click the “Rent A Scales” button, enter your herd details, choose your depot and the date you wish to rent. There’s a rental fee of €50 per day.

Once the animals are weighed you can record the weights on www.icbf.com using your ICBF username and password.  If you need more information on how to record weights, please call 023 8832883 or email [email protected]

 

Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme (SCEP)

SCEP is an agricultural scheme with the objective of providing support to beef farmers to improve the environmental sustainability of the national beef herd. The programme aims to build on the gains delivered in recent years through the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) and the Beef Environmental Efficiency Programme (BEEP).

SCEP will centre around four mandatory annual actions, which include a replacement strategy, genotyping programme, a weighing measure, and data recording.

Applications for SCEP can only be submitted using the Department’s online facility through www.agfood.ie.

Application closing date is 23:59pm on the 22nd May 2023.

Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme

The objective of the National Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme is to increase the economic and environmental efficiency of the beef from the dairy herd, and to facilitate the integration of the dairy and beef sectors by providing support for farmers who are rearing progeny from the dairy herd.

A minimum of 5 eligible calves must be weighed and weights submitted the ICBF. Calves must be at least 12 weeks old at the time of weighing and all weights should be submitted within 7 days of weighing.

Applications for the Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme can only be submitted using the Department’s online facility through www.agfood.ie.

Application closing date is 23.59pm on the 2nd May 2023.
